We are in need of both skilled and unskilled volunteers to help with everything from drilling through pavement and digging holes, mixing and pouring concrete, general assembly of play components, leveling equipment, handling check-in, serving drinks and snacks to volunteers, and helping care for volunteers' children during the day. Any individual or organization that would like to help with this community project is encouraged to sign up using our Build Day page. If you have a large group that would like to help with this, please contact Daniel Edwards at 812-708-0389.
Children ages 3 and older (must be fully potty-trained) who accompany an adult volunteer are welcome to join in the children's activities. We are working to get local teachers and/or daycare providers involved in the oversight of the children's activities, but we will need teen and/or adult volunteers to help with these activities. If you are a licensed daycare provider or a teacher and would be interested in helping to coordinate activities during our build day, please contact Amber Chambers at 812-306-5378.
We are seeking donations of food, snack and drink items to provide for approximately 100 volunteers throughout the Build Day. If you are interested in helping with this or have something to donate, please contact Wendy Wary at 812-604-7969.
It has taken a community effort to raise the funds for this first phase of the playground project, and we look forward to getting the whole community together to see it built. We are only able to accomplish what we have thanks to everyone's help and support! Thank you for Being the Change in Chandler!
PLEASE NOTE: The playground will remain closed for approximately two weeks after our Build Day to allow for the installation and curing of the rubberized safety surfacing. It is imperative that no one enter the playground site during this process to maintain the safety of the playground, as well as for personal safety reasons. The site will be secured with locked gates, caution tape, and safety cones/barrels; it will also be monitored by video camera.
