Collection sites include: Chandler Elementary School, LNB Community Bank, and Chandler United Methodist Church Food Pantry (located at the church). There will also be a one-day drive at Chandler Town Park during our Music in the Park event on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2-4 p.m. Bring your food items to the shelter house and stay for a free concert.
As an incentive for students, the class at Chandler Elementary that collects the most food items will get preferred seating at the school's upcoming I-Can Program. In addition to the school's collection efforts, teachers are incorporating childhood hunger lessons and discussions in their classrooms. On a more global scale, students can help fight hunger at home by answering educational questions to earn grains of rice for impoverished people through World Food Programme at www.freerice.com and by visiting www.thehungersite.com daily to click the "Give Food" button (free to participate) to donate 1 cup of food through Greater Good.
We invite you to help us make a difference to those in need by making even the smallest donation; every item counts!
